About My Coaching
My coaching is goal-focused. I enable people to identify their priorities - the
things that matter to them, and their organisations. Sometimes
desirable changes can be achieved fairly straightforwardly and quickly.
Often, however, it is only by working at the deeper level of
understanding thoughts, attitudes and beliefs that individuals discover
how to change the behaviours that are holding them back, or causing
difficulties in their relationships with others. As a Coaching
Psychologist I use Cognitive-Behavioural techniques to unblock difficult
or unwanted behaviour.

Typical Coaching Outline

"It was particularly helpful that you were able to tailor the
coaching to my exact requirements... I would also praise the
concreteness of the assignments you got me to complete, as this made
things real for me, rather than simply discussing principles."
Senior Lawyer Coaching Client
"The Psychologist's observations were extremely effective and helped
me to identify a number of behaviours that I am now addressing in my
development plan. Without Sue's input I would not have hit the
crux of my issues."

Coaching is much
more than sorting out problem areas. My clients are often highly capable people. My
coaching is often about extending competence and confidence from
existing areas into others.
|
|
I offer coaching
both as a stand-alone activity, and as a value-add follow-up after
Development Centres and Leadership Development Programmes.
|
Tailored Coaching
As a Coaching
Psychologist I tailor my approach, rather than assume 'one size fits
all'. So I offer a range of programmes, in different formats and I
use a variety of activities techniques in my coaching, depending on
requirements and budget. Examples of elements I sometimes employ
include psychometric profiling measures and practical role-play situations.

My Professionalism
As a Chartered Psychologist I am bound by the British Psychological Society's (BPS's)
code of conduct. The BPS code of ethics covers such issues as
respecting client confidentiality, recognising and working within, the
limits of professional competence, and maintaining a high standard of
personal and professional development.

|
I am a Certified Coach, which means that my coaching skills and understanding have been
independently assessed and verified.
